This Saturday marks an amazing seven years since the very first Record Store Day in the US, started by devoted record collectors who feared that their beloved independent stores would be forced to close down and so started an event to celebrate them. This year, around 200 independent record shops in the UK will attract queues as fans attempt to get their hands on a plethora of exciting limited edition releases.
The list of special releases this year is incredibly long as well as amazingly diverse and the Folded Wing team have picked what we'd be happy to queue up for on Saturday. We'd love to hear what you're excited about too - get in touch on Twitter @FoldedWingUK.

Joy Division - An Ideal For Living
"Being a proud Macclesfield lad it has to be the reissue of Joy Division's EP An Ideal For Living. I loved Joy Division while I was growing up round the corner from Ian Curtis' old haunts. This was their first release after changing their name from Warsaw and this reissue has been mixed at Abbey Road Studios, with new artwork to replace the pretty controversial original artwork. I can't wait to hear what it sounds like!"

LCD Soundsystem - Live The Final Show NYC
"I absolutely loved Shut Up And Play The Hits, the documentary of LCD Soundsystem's last ever show at Madison Square Gardens, and this vinyl box set of the live album from the gig looks pretty special."

Chocolate Milk - Action Speaks Louder Than Words (Coloured Vinyl)
"Chocolate Milk's classic 1975 album 'Action Speaks Louder Than Words' is being reissued on coloured vinyl. The track 'Time Machine' is a big favourite of mine and as a nerdy record collector I would love to have it on coloured vinyl! Nice sleeve too."

Illum Sphere - Spectre Vex EP
"The Lone remix is one of the best tracks I've heard in the last couple of months. There are also some other really interesting remixes in the pack - In particular, I'm digging the oddball electro filth of Charles Manier's rework. It's got a bit of a 2 Lone Swordsmen / Weatherall vibe to it which I really like."
